Letters
EDITOR: A few concerned neighbors from Key Largo, believing in the need for a public waterfront park with a boat ramp, saw an opportunity to make the dream come true when the old Rowell's Marina at mile marker 104 was placed on the market.

EDITOR: The incompetent attorneys of the village of Islamorada have lost another huge case [over the formula retail ordinance], spending hundreds of thousands in employee time and attorney bills, and now can expect a judgment for damages, additional attorney bills and interest.

EDITOR: I would like to thank all the local medical and fitness providers that participated in the eighth annual Lower Keys Medical Center Health and Wellness Event at the Grand Key Resort Oct. 9. With more than 600 attendees each year, it is the largest and most successful event of its kind in the Florida Keys.

EDITOR: We've had an election in Monroe County that brought us two new county commissioners and one incumbent. From the results, it was an overwhelming vote of confidence for all of them. Paint guys are the best
EDITOR: Grace Jones Daycare would like to thank Sherwin Williams in Marathon, specifically Eric Cole, Emily Hull, Manuel Torres and Tony Garza, for their continued support and help in maintaining our beautiful facility. From the very beginning of our construction, they have donated paint, many supplies and knowledge that has kept our center truly one of a kind, beautiful in and out.

Newspaper endorsements provide useful information
EDITOR: I disagree with Alice Victory, the Big Pine Key resident whose Nov. 12 letter to the editor lambasted the media for making endorsements in political races. I feel it is the obligation of the media to provide such endorsements.

Re-election shows bar is being raised
EDITOR: I wanted to take this opportunity to thank my family, friends, supporters and those that voted for me for their tremendous support. There are so many people that did so much that I cannot thank them in the space allotted for such a letter, but please know if you held a sign, made a call, talked to a friend, planned a party, donated money, etc., I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Habitat for Humanity is about homes, not houses
EDITOR: On Nov. 8, Glen Owens' letter concerning workforce/affordable homes on Big Coppitt Key inadvertently mixed the two new neighborhoods he referenced.
